Welcome
Hi, I’m Evan Chambers, an economics student at the University of Texas. Thanks for stopping by my site for our MIS class! I’m passionate about how data and incentives shape real-world decisions, from everyday choices to big policy questions. I’m also a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, which has fueled a lifelong curiosity about different cultures and systems. I’ve been playing volleyball for eight years and played libero and outside hitter for my high school varsity team and my club team, Houston Volleyball Academy. On this page you’ll find a snapshot of my interests — games I play, sports I follow, and places I’ve traveled — plus ways to get in touch.

Texas Longhorns & the Red River Rivalry
History of the Rivalry
The Red River Rivalry (also known as the Red River Shootout or Red River Showdown) is one of college football’s most storied matchups, pitting the Texas Longhorns against the Oklahoma Sooners. Their first meeting occurred in 1900—before Oklahoma was even a state—and the game has been held annually since 1929. Since 1932, it’s been played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, a neutral site roughly halfway between both campuses. The rivalry’s name comes from the Red River, which forms part of the border between Texas and Oklahoma. Traditionally, the winner takes home the Golden Hat trophy, a ten-gallon cowboy hat mounted on a stand. Over the decades, both teams have traded stretches of dominance, and as of 2025, Texas leads the all-time series by a comfortable margin. The rivalry is known for dramatic finishes, legendary players, and a sea of burnt orange and crimson splitting the Cotton Bowl right down the middle.
2025 Red River Rivalry Victory
The 2025 edition of the Red River Rivalry saw Texas upset No. 6 Oklahoma in Dallas with a convincing 23-6 victory. After a tight first half that ended with Oklahoma leading 6–3, Texas’ defense took over. They held OU to just 88 yards in the second half and forced three interceptions of Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer. The defining moment came when Longhorn returner Ryan Niblett took a punt 75 yards for a touchdown early in the 4th quarter, stretching Texas’ lead to 20–6 and sealing the win. On offense, quarterback Arch Manning delivered a clean performance—going 21-for-27 for 166 yards and a touchdown. In total yards, Texas had 304 vs. Oklahoma’s 258, and they edged them in time of possession 30:58 to 29:02.
